I have had this "debate" with so many artists over the years on what they envision vs what another see's.. this is a perfect case in point of that.
You say you failed in part of it and that it looks unfinished..
I start with the Title.. Time.
Time changes everything and usually starts at birth. blossoms out into youth then maturity and then death. I see this progression within this piece as time goes from the beauty towards the graying and eventual decay.
Personally I would not change one single thing at all and leave it exactly as is because what you see and how you created it and envisioned it once it is shown to another it is thru their eyes that you know if you gave something to them thru your art. To me you did.
